I cannot quite believe it's been a whole year since I decided to take the plunge into Blogging and created #StyledbyCharlie.
It's been such a very fun year.
Full of ups and downs but if there's one thing Blogging has kept me going, kept me inspired and kept me ticking. It's something I started after being asked by my Instagram followers to try, so I could share my styled and shopping secrets with them.
However, at the time I had no idea what Blogging was? Who are Bloggers? What do Bloggers do?
But with absolutely nothing to lose by giving it a try, I write my first blog post and I was immediately hooked.
It's only been a year but #StyledbyCharlie has evolved from a Fashion only Blog into a Fashion, Beauty, Baking and Lifestyle Blog. Somewhere you can turn to for Fashion Tips, Beauty Bargains and Reviews, Baking Recipes and Lifestyle & Interiors Tips & Tutorials.
I've found a new and very exciting passion for Blogging and I'm extremely proud of myself for sticking at it. I'm also so thankful for the places Blogging has taken me, as well as the people and brands the Bloggersphere Industry & Community has introduced me to.
I wanted to Celebrate #StyledbyCharlie.com's 1st Birthday with a bunch of posts about StyledbyCharlie.com's New Look (& new domain), New Collaborations and my favourite things from my First Blogging Year!

SIMPLE 3 STEP BUNTING TUTORIAL #STYLEDBYCHARLIEDIY

From Photography, Art and Interior Design to DIY and Textiles.
All things, everything creative.
I've decided to show you all something I love to do on my day off, one of my favourite past times.
I fell in love with a sewing machine when I was about 13 years old at secondary school in Textiles class. When I then went on to take Design Technology into my GCSEs where I took DT Fast Track taking Textiles, finishing with an A a year earlier than the rest of my year.
I've loved sewing, textiles and being creative with a needle and thread ever since, so I took Textiles further at A Level too.
It's something I've not shared with you guys yet, so when I sat in front of my sewing machine on my day off this week, I took a minute and decided to share it with you all!
So, here is my Simple 3 Step #StyledbyCharlieDIY Bunting Tutorial.
For this tutorial you'll need:
1 x Fabric Scissors
1 x Zig Zag Scissors
1 x Fabric Tape Measure
1 x 1m of Fabric (of your choice)
10 x Pins
1.5m x Bunting Ribbon
Optional
A Sewing Machine + Needle + Thread + Bobbin
Or
A Needle + Thread
What I love about Bunting is how cute and effective it is and such a versatile accessory for your home, nursery, coffee shop, bedroom, baby's crib etc and just looks so adorable!
But the best thing about Bunting is it's simple to make too!
So, here's my #StyledbyCharlieDIY 3 Step Bunting Tutorial!
1. Take your chosen 1m of Fabric.
Measure out your Bunting Triangles with Fabric Chalk or a Pencil.
Cut using your Zig Zag Scissors for that Zig Zag edging effect.

I made my Triangles 15cm (H - Point) X 10cm (W - Top)
The perfect size for a childs crib or bedroom accessory.

2. Arrange your Bunting Triangles evenly along your Bunting Ribbon.
Fold over the top of the Triangles, so that your Bunting Triangles are incased in your Bunting Ribbon
Pin to hold in place.
See bellow
3. Sew along the Pinned Edge.
Removing the Pins as you go with your Sewing Machine or a Needle and Thread.
(Needle and Thread option may take a while, but make sure your stitches are tightly together to ensure perfect Finnish holding the Triangles in place)
Cut along the end of you Finished Bunting leaving some excess ribbon for tying, and...
You're Done!
Easy as pie!
Bunting is so simple to make, so effective as a homeware accessory and the perfect homemade gift!

ASOS SALE HAUL UNBOXING

I'm obsessed with ASOS.
All things, everything ASOS.
ASOS is literally the only place I shop online with now, I don't think I could've dreamt of a better One-Stop-Shop!
Last weekend I went to London for the weekend for my best, and longest friend's 20th birthday celebrations.
Having Spring Cleaned my wardrobe out last month, I found that an ASOS wardrobe update was greatly needed for my weekend away, finding ASOS' new Sale was just too much fun!
So I've got a little ASOS Sale Haul for you!
I've become obsessed with Shirts recently, especially oversized shirts.
Stalking ASOS' Shirt Sale and finding this beauty was too tempting.
This ASOS Ivory Shirt is slightly sheer with a gorgeous drop collar and bagging styling, with on trend military pockets and bat wing sleeves.
I fell in love.
I've been craving a new pair of jeans for absolutely ages.
However, I find jean shopping difficult, tedious and very, very long. I cant never find the right pair of jeans, I think I'm quite fussy with fit and fabric so I don't really help matters.
I usually only buy jeans from ASOS, as they're the only ones I like.
But I thought I'd try these Pull & Bear Jeggings and I'm desperate for a legging style pair of jeans I can just throw on all the time.
Although when they arrived, annoyingly they had a strange fit, despite their gorgeous colour and style they just fit awkwardly and I've decided (thank god for ASOS' free returns service) to return them.
But if you know of any stretchy style jeans that fit like they say they should, please let me know!
Next is something I seem to be buying a lot at the moment, shawls, scarves and wraps.
I always like to have a wrap on hand as they're just that perfect accessory you can style up or down and wear with such ease with any outfit!
So I ordered this adorable New Look Knitted Fringed Wrap with my ASOS order and as I don't currently have a black one, this is an essential addition to my collection.
As I mentioned, I've a shirt obsession at the moment, and I don't have many collar-less.
I loved this Vero Moda Shirt for it's collarless neck and lattice strap back.
Simple and easily worn casual or smart.
I thought I'd try these Mango Beige Chinos especially with the shirt and rolled up ankles with a pair of Birkenstocks for a spring/summer feel.
However, again I found these a funny fit and really low rise which is also annoying and unflattering which is such a shame as their an lovely material and I was so excited by the look, but unfortunately had to send these back also.
I've worn my trusty Black Pashmina to death recently.
So I thought it was about time I gave her a little break and bought a new scarf.
What better than an Oversized Fluffy Scarf?
The perfect companion over your favourite coat heading to a meal in the evening or wrapped around your favourite dress as a cute casual addition.
I couldn't resist.
Lastly, a Pair of High Waisted ASOS Leggings.
Usually I'm a religious Primark Leggings kind of girl.
£4 for a pair of seam-free leggings with a gorgeous sheen? I just have too.
But on this very rare occasion I thought I'd treat myself to a pair of pushing the boat out Leggings from ASOS for a change.
They're amazing, I love the feel it's quite different for me.
However, I wish I'd ordered a size down, as they do enjoy the pull of gravity and I'm finding myself constantly pulling them up.
But they are a lovely Legging to add to my overflowing Primark collection.
I'm not usually one to follow a trend or beauty craze, I'm usually one to stick to what I know works.
However, when I saw Maybelline's Dream Flawless Nude Foundation on offer in ASDA I had to join the craze and see what the huge social media hype was all about...
I bought this New Blogger Crazy Maybelline Foundation from ASDA for £4.88 on a promotional offer, so I gave it a try!
I'm usually a Matte and Matte-only foundation kind of girl, switching between my MAC Studio Fix Fluid, Oxygenetix Breathable, (High End) L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour and Collection Lasting Perfection Foundations (Drugstore) only, I've never strayed between.
But I'd love a sheer less-matte finish foundation so I took the plunge..
Unfortunately, I don't get it!
I don't understand the hype at all?
I'm so disappointed.
Having read review after review about how truly amazing this foundation is I just don't quite understand why?
It's got the most pointless application method ever.
What on earth am I supposed to do with a tear drop on a stick when applying my foundation?
It's not even a nice pointless tear drop applicator! It's scratchy plastic.
It's not an overly generous amount of bottled foundation.
It's got a sheer coverage.. Ok. Fine.
But it doesn't last, the staying power is rubbish!
You need to carry it, a concealer/powder every where with you to keep applying it.
Even with my two favourite Primers, it doesn't last.
But most of all,
It smells horrific!
It's got a pungently medical, detergent smell to it.
It takes me back to chemistry classes at school and smells like the horrible chemicals you'd get anyone but you to pop into the test tube.
It's vile.
I don't get it.
I don't get the hype or craze about this foundation and I definitely will not repurchase.
I've tried Drugstore Foundations but I'd definitely buy L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour or Collection Lasting Perfection Foundations over this Maybelline gimmicky foundation any day.
