HIGH STREET BEAUTY HAUL

4.10.15

Through September I did a little bit of Beauty Shopping in Superdrug and TK Maxx!
So I thought I'd share the things I bought in a Blog Haul for you!

First I went to Superdrug!
I'm obsessed with Tanya Burr's New Released Products.
In a previous post I showed my New Tanya Burr Products, and this week I picked up the Lipgloss in 'Berry Picking'. All the Tanya Burr Lipgloss' are amazing. The packaging, the applicator and the formula in an affordable drugstore product is so refreshing, you can always rely on a Beauty YouTuber to create a amazing quality product.

'Berry Picking' is a stunning shade! I'll be wearing it over my MAC Nightmoth Lipliner and MAC Diva Lipstick Combo for the perfect glossy autumnal lip look. However the product is very pigmented so you could wear it on it's own very easily.

This is one of the newest products in the Tanya Burr Range that launched on the last week of September her New Cheek Palettes!
They come in 2 Shades; Peachy Glow & Rosy Flush including a Bronzer, Blush and Powder Highlight. The formula is amazing. So blend-able and pigmented for a strong or subtle look.
The Highlighter is beautiful with the perfect amount of shimmer. They pressed powders are embossed with Bronzer Stripes, Blusher Hearts and Highlight Stars.
So pretty!

Lottie London Top Coat in So Gel
I've been meaning to try Lottie London as a brand for a while, and since they now have a space in Superdrug it's much easier to get hold of!
I picked up the Top Coat Polish in So Gel. It's a Gel like finish to achieve the salon gel look at home.
It's brilliant! It's thick and glossy but dries quickly. Leaving the perfect Gloss Gel Finish with Salon perfect Nails from Home.
Highly recommended!

I've been searching for an Eye Primer for ages since my Elf Cosmetics one ran out.
I've heard amazing things about high end eye primers, but not much hype about any Drugstore alternatives. So I decided to try out the MUA Eye Primer as I love MUA products for their great drugstore quality and very affordable prices.
The Primer is fab for a Drugstore buy. It's creamy and sets the base soft and ready for eyeshadow application. This product is so affordable and accessible, it's definitely a Drugstore much have from me!

Watching Lily Melrose's Videos on YouTube recently I noticed she used the Maybelline Pore Eraser daily and I'd never tried it. So when in Superdrug a couple of week ago I decided to give it a try!
It's the gel like consistency that I prefer in a Primer and does exactly what it says on the tube.
It's gel like formula glides over the skin evenly leaving a soft even finish perfect for apply a base to for a flawless look.

I've tried B. Skincare and Lipgloss' which are amazing!
But Superdrug's exclusive brand B. have recently launched a Brush Range with an affordable Brush Cleaner! This is such a handy product thats so travel friendly with a small bottle size and a pump spritz lid too. It's such a good product for brush cleaning making the tedious task quick and easy by spraying the product into your hand and swirling your dirty brushes around watching the dirt wash away.
Simple and easy.

I love Real Techniques Brushes I not sure there is a much better brush brand available on the high street. However, when in TK Maxx last month I noticed a selection of Real Techniques products in the Beauty Section, obviously cheaper than the drugstore! Is that possible?
So I popped the stippling brush in my basket as seeing Real Techniques Brushes at a bargain price, would be crazy to walk away without at least one!
(I then went in at a later date and picked up the Powder Brush and Blusher Blush too! Oops!)

The Balm Nude'tude Palette
So, this is kind of a cheat in the mix as The Balm products aren't really 'affordable/drugstore' however, TK Maxx have a selection of The Balm products in stock making them so affordable!
I picked up the The Balm Nude'tude Palette from TK Maxx for £16.99!
It's not only a pretty and fun palette it has the perfect everyday palette with darker shades for night looks. It's a combination of Mattes and Shimmers including a Black smokey shades and a White shimmer inner corner highlight shade.
This palette is incredible, and also comes with an amazing Eye Primer which is the best I've ever used!
I'd recommend popping into TK Maxx and picking up some amazing beauty bargains ASAP before they're gone!

That's my High Street Beauty Haul!
I hope you enjoyed it and it's given you new products to try.
Let me know if you've tried them I'd love to know!

SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

30.9.15

It's that time of the month again!
(Not that kind)
Time to reflect over all the products and items I've been loving this September!

BEAUTY
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette
I've been meaning to get my hands on this palette for a while.
However, due to its Hourglass not being sold everywhere and its price tag, its not always that accessible. So, when I was in London earlier this month for an Event, I popped into SpaceNK for the first time and treated myself to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.
It's so worth the hype. Whether you're using it for highlight, strobing, contour or for setting it's such  versatile product. The three shades; Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light.
I'm in love with this product. Packaging, Product and Versatility. It's beautiful.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation & Concealer
In London on the same Event trip, after SpaceNK I popped across the road to Harrods to the New EstĂ©e Lauder Counter. I've heard so much about the Double Wear Collection and the amazing coverage.
As a base lover, I thought I'd give it a try! I'm hooked.
I didn't only pick up the Double Wear Foundation in Shade: Pale Almond, but I bought the Concealer too! The Foundation is a lovely consistency which is really build-able with a nice formula to apply which I use with a Nanshy Buffed Base Brush for a Medium Coverage Flawless Finish.
I bought the Concealer in a lighter shade as a brighting concealer for under the eyes, brow bone and around the range. The Double Wear Concealer is a creamier consistency more like the NARS Concealer. It's got great coverage and I'm loving this combination.

Real Techniques Powder Brush & Blush Brush
I love Real Techniques Brushes, they're definitely some of the best affordable brushes available  on the high street. This month I popped into TK Maxx and saw they had Real Techniques!
Must cheaper than the normal high street price! So in my basket went the Powder Brush and Blush Brush.
I've been using the Powder Brush with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and the Blush Brush with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette.
Get to TK Maxx ASAP!

Nanshy Brushes
As you probably saw earlier this month, I got some New Brushes from Nanshy.
Before the #BloggersFestival I'd never heard of Nanshy as a brand before, but I'm so glad I've been introduced to them because their brushes are fabulous quality and gorgeously packaged.
See my previous Blog Post here.

Organic Glam Mascara
In last months Red Magazine was a FREE Mascara from Organic Glam.
So, with a need for a read on the train to London and with a FREE Mascara, Red Magazine went 'straight in my basket'!
Despite the boring packaging with gold writing had worn away in a day. The Mascara itself jet black with a plastic, short bristled wand that gives great curl and length to the lashes it really is amazing.
See if you can find last months magazine hidden in the shelves with this absolute beauty steal inside!

COLAB Dry Shampoo in New York
I love dry shampoo. I think it's an old school yet genius creation.
However, some brands get it so, so wrong. I'm not a fan of Batiste, I find their dry shampoo bitty and white making my hair look worse than it did before! This month I tried COLAB for the first time after hearing so many good things. First I bought the COLAB Mini's in Monaco in Normal and Extreme, before buying the New York large bottle and falling in love.
The Normal over the Extreme is much more suited to my thick hair and works just like a shampoo, you don't need a lot and it blend throughout the hair. However, If you have fine limp hair, definitely try out the COLAB Extreme Volume Collection its super volumising.
I will not be using any other Dry Shampoo Brands now I've found COLAB.

I've got hooded, oily eyelids. So finding a good liquid eyeliner is a never ending tedious task.
This month I popped into the Drugstore and decided to give one, one last try!
I swatched the L'oreal Super Liner and I was pleasantly surprised with its staying power.
I've been wearing it all the time and it's the first liquid liner i've used on my lash line that doesn't smudge, move or disappear within 10 minutes.
So if you're looking for the perfect liquid eye liner for hooded eyes, definitely try this one!

SKINCARE
Kleem Serum
Whist at #BloggersFashionWeek this month I was introduced to Kleem.
They sent me home with a bottle of their Serum to try and I've been using it daily since and it's fab!
The citrus scent and gentle formula has been great with my dry sensitive skin and my skin is feeling fabulous! I'd highly recommend trying it.

Magnitone VibraSonic Daily Cleansing Brush
I've used a facial cleansing brush from Philipps before. However found it awfully harsh and rough on my dry and sensitive skin, so my boyfriend decided he'd have it and it work much better for him, he uses it daily! So I was excited to try the oh so raved about Magnitone VibraSonic Cleansing Brush which thankfully is much, much better!
The brush head is not only full on soft, caring bristles but it had two simple easy settings you simply activate by pressing the on button once for setting one, and twice for setting two.. no faff!
I love using my Magnitone - which I got in Green over Orange or Pink because it's just too cool - daily with my Nip & Fab Cleanser or my Emma Hardie Cleanser and Cleansing Balm and it has left my skin soft and clear feeling refreshed and healthy.
I'd highly recommend the Magnitone as a fun, small and cheaper alternative to the other cleansing brushes on the market, but through my experience I'd recommend it over the more expensive alternatives anyway.
It's amazing quality and you can get it n fun colours.
What more could you want?

BATH & BODY
SABON Bath & Body
I thought I'd try out some New Bath & Body Products this month from my PR Samples box and thought I'd give my 3 New SABON Products as try!
They not only come in the most adorable and beautiful boxed packaging but the scents are amazing.
I have the Body Lotion, Scrub and Shower Oil.
My favourite is the Shower Oil which I use daily as my body wash which smells divine and had such a handy pump applicator which is so useful. You only need a small amount which goes a long way, so I'm glad it will last ages! SABON's Products are beautiful so I'd highly recommended trying them if you're after some New Bath & Body Products!

INTERIORS
Bobble Throw
I love TK Maxx Homeware, I shop there way, way to much!
This month I picked up another New Throw from TK Maxx Home (also HomeSense) in the Sale for £22.00. It's cream coloured and huge. As well as super soft with fur bobble edging, I couldn't resist!
It looked great draped at the end of my bed. I couldn't not put it in my Monthly Favourites!

Print by Jess Mess Design
If you read my last post you'll know how much I'm in my with my New Hand Written Print from Jess Mess Design on Instagram.
It's of a Quote I created and love a lot, a lot. Hand Written and framed by Jess herself.
It sits proudly on my desk and I could stare at it for hours!
Be sure to check out Jess' Designs here.

I have a big, big love for jewellery and picked up this Copper Skull Ring Holder from Paperchase earlier in the Month. It's just perfect.
I'm obsessed with Copper anyway, but the fact it's a Copper Skull with Antlers is just utter perfection.
It sits on my bedside and looks stunning.

FASHION
Matalan Shirt
This month I've been doing a bit of AW15 Clothes Shopping!
Haul Coming Soon to my YouTube Channel Subscribe here!
I picked up this Black Check Shirt from Matalan for £12.00 which is a longer tunic length.
Because I'm 5'4 this is perfect as it means it's just that little bit longer and looks so fab and on trend over a pair of jeans or leggings with ankle boots. I can't get enough of wearing it!

TK Maxx Boots
I've been pairing my Matalan Shirt with my next Favourites, these stunning Spanish Suede Ankle Boots I picked up for £49.99 from TK Maxx.
I've been wearing them to death this month they're such incredible quality, look great with anything from a top and leggings to a dress and they're perfect for A/W!
I've been wearing them non-stop.

Strapzy Wrap
I'm forever changing my case on my phone but not since I got my Strapzy!
Until Strapzy sent me their new product, a Gold Glitter Wrap.
I put it on my iPhone 6 Plus straight away and it felt as if I had a New Phone.
So unique, so fun and so different.
Update your phone to feel like a complete new one for only £9.99.
So cool!

RANDOM
Vlog Camera
This month I relaunched my YouTube Channel and starting Vlogging!
I bought the Panasonic Lumix TZ57 and I'm so happy with it!
It's such a great little camera with amazing quality and a tilt screen, perfect for Vlogging.
It's easy to use and such great quality. But my favourite feature is by far the WiFi setting.
You can take a picture and send it to your phone wirelessly anywhere. Which is so handy if you social media obsessed like me!
If you're just starting a YouTube Channel or after a little digital camera for every day, I'd highly recommend the TZ57.
Check out the quality of my Vlogs and Subscribe to my YouTube Channel here.

Leather Look Notebook & Copper Skull Pen
Since Blogging for Metro, relaunching my YouTube Channel and Blogging twice a week I've become obsessed with taking notes and planning. I found this perfect Lather Look Notebook from Pound Stretcher for £1.99 and this Copper Skull Pen from Paperchase and have since carried them everywhere with me! It's so helpful having a pen you with you all the time that you like to write with, and a notebook to jot down any random ideas that fly in!
This little pair have been a firm favourite this month.

Postcards
Note only have I become obsessed with taking note but this month I couldn't get enough of Notecards and Postcards! I've collected quite collection.
It's so much nicer to have a selection of postcards in your desk drawer that you can grab whenever.
Be it a unique birthday card or just leaving someone a note.
They're fun and handy!

NEW MAKEUP TOOL UPDATE

6.9.15

I've been in love with Real Techniques Makeup Tools since I fell in love with makeup a year or so ago. They really are the best value for money makeup tools on the market.

I already own a lot of Real Techniques Brushes but recently updated my Collection with some New Products!

I already have the Miracle Sponge which I use to apply and blend my Makeup, however as I use it every single day my current one needed replacing. As it really is that good, so I bought another!

Real Techniques also recently brought out a Collectors Edition of the Sculpting Set which has 3 Real Techniques Brushes in it in a Collectors Special of Shiny Pink Metallic colouring and includes the Sculpting Brush, Setting Brush and an Exclusive Fan Brush.
Which I picked up on Special Offer in Superdrug for £13.99.

I already have a Real Techniques Setting Brush but they are so, so handy for Highlighter, Blending Contour or Eye Shadow Blender but I love using it for Concealer as it's so light and fluffy.

I was excited about the Fan Brush as I love the smaller size of it to normal fan brushes, and is going to be perfect for Powder Highlight or for Sweeping Setting Powder.

I absolutely love Contouring and Sculpting.
I'm really excited about the Sculpting Brush.
I use a Cream Contour to shape and sculpt my makeup look, and the Sculpting Brush's wide, dense brush and angled shape will be so perfect for contouring.
I recently been using the Sculpting Brush for Foundation too and it's the perfect shape and density for a flawless foundation look.

I love the Pink Metallic Collectors Edition Colouring and it looks perfect with my New 'Little Cosmetics Bag' Makeup Bag I picked up for only 99p from Home Bargains.

The Miracle Sponge has been my favourite Makeup Tool for a really, really long time.
It has so many uses whether you use it for applying, blending or finishing your foundation and makeup look. But it's the most useful tool in my Makeup Bag.

I rinse it under a Cold Tap squeezing it to absorb the water until it's nearly doubled in size and feels soft before squeezing all the excess water from it.

I then use it to apply and blend my foundation as it leaves such a natural, flawless finish making your pump of foundation go a long way to creating the perfect airbrushed base.

I then use it to blend my Cream Contour and to blend any other products or remove any accidents.
It really it the best multipurpose Makeup Tool!

If you've not tried any of the Real Techniques Products then I'd highly recommend them!
They are the Best Makeup Bag investments I've made.

MY FOUNDATION GUIDE

16.6.15

I always get asked; Which foundation do you use? Which brand do you recommend for Foundations? etc. It seem to be the makeup product that people are always searching for, testing and trying out different ones hoping to find their perfect match.

The issue I always hear and read to is what is the best way to apply foundation?
Well the thing is application depends on which foundation you're using, what the formula and constancy is like and what foundation finish you're after!

Well, I thought I'd share my favourite foundations.
I don't just have 1, I have many for different days, different occasions and different looks.
As well as my favourite ways to apply each foundation.

My Shade: Opal/Creme
I was sent this foundation to try as it has a formula I've never tried before and is described as a Breathable and Healing Foundation.
It's the perfect foundation for every day if you're after that dewey, flawless but no-makeup makeup look. Most of my skin compliments come when I wear this Oxygenetix Foundation.
What I love about it is it's easy to apply, easy to build and looks so natural.
It's a high end product with a high end price, but that is completely reflected when used.
I'd recommend this foundation especially for summer as it gives you the perfect summery, fresh faced glow with the ideal amount of coverage and is extremely light weight.
When applying the Oxygenetix Foundation I like you use one pump on the back of my hand with Real Techniques Miracle Sponge working it into the skin.
But the trick with the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge is you need to use it damp.
Sounds strange if you've not done it before but you hold the sponge under the water squeezing until the sponge is completely wet before rinsing the sponge out.
The damp sponge and foundation together create the most perfect flawless look with the Oxygenetix foundation allowing you to really work the foundation into your skin for the ideal coverage and complete finish.

My Shade: 12 Natural Rose
This foundation is described as a Matte finish however I think it's a semi matte.
It works similarly to the Oxygenetix foundation although it has more coverage and thicker consistency. I apply this foundation in the same way with a damp Real Techniques Miracle Sponge working it into my skin it leaves a flawless semi matte finish that absolutely perfect for building on with contour or highlighting.
I think this is the ideal foundation is you're after a natural look for a night out but are after the right amount of coverage and option to contour and build.

My Shade: 2/3
This is my all-time favourite drugstore foundation if you love coverage.
If you want an affordable foundation with amazing coverage in a great range of shades with Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation is your guy.
It's very similar in finish and formulation to MAC Studio Fix Fluid but less than half the price!
I apply this foundation with a Spectrum Brushes 'Part of Your World' Buffing Brush, Real Techniques Buffing Brush or Expert Face Brush as a Matte Finish it needs buffing in for the flawless finish.

My Shade: NW18
This was my go-to foundation for 2-3 years until I found myself without the budget.
However there is no doubt that it's an amazing foundation with the most perfect Matte Finish.
If you have more of a £20-£25 budget for a foundation and love a high coverage Matte Finish then you need to try it out.
What's handy about this foundation is it has such a high coverage you don't need a concealer.
I'd recommend buying the MAC Studio Fix Powder to go with this foundation as well as they work in complete harmony together.
When applying this foundation I'd use a Real Techniques Buffing Brush or Expert Face Brush, following with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush with the MAC Studio Fix Powder to set the foundation.

That is my guide to foundations that I would really recommend trying whatever your budget!
I love beauty and I love makeup!
I love trying out new foundations but always find myself going back to these 4 as they really are my perfect collection of foundations.

I hope you've found this helpful and I wish you luck in finding your perfect foundation and hope this helps you on your way!

Thank you for reading!
