SUMMER DRUGSTORE MAKEUP MENU | BEAUTY

24.8.16

It's been a while since I last mentioned my current makeup routine and the products I can't get enough of right now, so I thought I'd share my Summer 2016 Makeup Menu with you, and it's all drugstore!

I'm not a huge lover of summer personally, but this year I have loved some of the new trends of summer makeup and I've been getting creative with it too.
Day-to-day I've kept it basic and adding a bold brow, flawless finish, on-glow highlight and matte nude lip - I love it!

So onto products, I've got a lot of new favourites I never mentioned on my blog before, so be sure to let me know in the comments if you've tried them too!

After falling in love with BD Tinted Moisturiser, I turned to the slightly more coverage foundation that gives a more flawless, pore-less finish.
I love the consistency of this foundation it's super easy to blend, and the range of shade offerings is amazing.
I wrote a Blog Post on Tesco's BD Range, read more here.

I've been a fan of this concealer for ages! It's great for under eye bags with high coverage perfect for blemishes too. I use this under my eyes, around my nose and cupids bow for extra coverage and to high those pores!

If you're after a brightening concealer then I highly recommend the Revlon Colorstay concealer!
I wouldn't say you get the best coverage with this concealer which is why I wear it over the Maybelline Eraser Eye but it's super brightening and great for getting that bright under eye Kardashian look.

I've not used powder properly for years but I'm back on the powder bandwagon!
This powder from NYX is amazing for setting your makeup and perfect for hot days helping you makeup last longer and stay matte perfect.

This product is the best contour kit I've ever tried and it's only £3.99!
The contour shade is perfect and great for building and blending depending on your desired sculpted look for the day. I use it to define my cheek bones and jaw line with an angled fluffy brush for a naturally sculpted look.
I also use the highlighter in this kit on my cheekbones, nose and cupids bow.
It gives a great glow and isa gorgeous champagne shade perfect for summer.

Again, another product I love and will be continue to buy and hope is never discontinued!
Tanya Burr's brow kit is totally amazing! Whatever your brow shade you have it or can mix it with this palette. It actually comes with a great brush and handy tiny tweezers too.
I use the darkest shade to get this bold brow look I'm loving right now.

I'm still yet to find a black liquid liner I love as much as this one from Loreal.
It's super, super black and dries quickly too so you don't have to worry about transfer or smudging, it's ideal for hooded eyes like mine!

Back to an old favourite for summer! Tesco Beauty sent me this mascara to review and I've rekindled my love for the Lash Sensational. I love the brush shape and style it's great or bottom lashes too.
Using this mascara takes no time at all to get false lash effect.

The shade of this blush looks quite intense in the pan but it gives a stunning health flush glow to the cheeks and has rose gold shimmer within it too so you get an added highlighted flush too which looks great with a matte base.

I've been obsessed with matte lips for years and I love Tanya Burr's products, so when I found out about the release of her liquid lips, I had to have them!
Martha Moo is my favourite out of the 3 shades she launched, its the perfect nude and the consistency of the product is stunning! It's so easy to apply and lasts for ages and ages even through drinking and eating.
I've been wearing it with day and night makeup looks and it really is one of my top 5 favourite beauty products I've ever tried.

My Summer Makeup Look!
So they are the product I've been loving recently and the ones I'm constantly grabbing for.
Let me know what your favourite summer beauty products are and if you have any recommendations of some new products I might like too!

Q&A | 2016

21.8.16

My 2016 Question and Answer!
What are your Top 3 Summer 2016 Style Items? - @Heartbeat_Elss
My Top 3 Summer Style Items for 2016 have to be:
1. Jersey Maxi Dress
2. Printer Bomber
3. Blue Liquid Eyeliner

If you got another Pug what would you call it? - @AmandaBootes

Tom and I have so many names for our next Pug, and we're pretty sure it'll be a boy!
So it'll either be called Pablo or Otis.

If you could only use one makeup brand for the rest of your life, which one would it be? - @SofiaBilder

I found this question super hard!
2 years ago, I would've said MAC by far.. However now I try so many brands.
I think now, I'd use Revlon for Drugstore budgets and Laura Mercier for High-end budget.

If you could swap places with one person for the day, who would it be? - @mydebeauvoirdiaries

I think I'd actually swap places with Tanya Burr. She has my dream job ever and I'd love to swap places with her for a day to live in the life of my dream.

What's your ultimate high street brand? - @PrimroseBW
I'm currently obsessed with Primark and New Look!
However, overall I'd say Primark you just can't beat the range of products for great prices and with the beauty range and homeware range too it's a one-stop-shop!

What's your favourite thing and/or least favourite thing about blogging? - @katie_ainscough
My favourite things is working with brands and being introduced to new products and having the chance to share my thoughts on those with my readers.
My least favourite thing about blogging is time.
I work full time, blog twice a week and weekly vlog on my YouTube Channel every week too.
So the things I find hardest is finding time to fit life in.

What motivates you to blog? - @devotedtopink
I've lucky that I'm super motivated. I've always got more than one idea to blog about and I don't find it difficult to get in the zone to blog. However this wasn't always the case! When I first started blogging I felt a little lost, but now it's my dream career and I just can't get enough of it.

What is your favourite skincare products? - @jesschamilton
I'm skincare obsessed. I have loads of favourite skincare products but currently my favourite is definitely the Ganier Oil Infused Micellar Water - it's amazing!
Great for dry skin, and removing any kind of makeup. It's the best micellar water I've ever used.

What is your favourite city? - @worldofannna
New York. 100%!
I've only been once, but I hope to go again many times. Visiting NYC changed my life and inspired me so much. My favourite place is definitely Central Park.

What are your three top tips for getting the best photos possible? - @camilladelacoe
My Top 3 Tips for great photography are:
1. Invest in a DSLR - It's worth every penny!
2. Lighting - Whether it's natural or artificial, find the best spot for taking photos and the one with the best light.
3. Editing - I'll never post a photo without it being edited as that's just how I roll.
I'd recommend investing in Photoshop for your computer, and for your iPhone I love using Photoshop's iPhone App and the Darkroom App too, they're definitely my favourites!

#THEBIGDOGWALK | CHARITY FUNDRAISER

17.8.16

If you follow my weekly vlogs, you'll know I sadly lost my amazing, courageous Nana to cancer earlier this year. So when my friend Chloe came up with the idea to host #TheBigDogWalk by Boo's Walking School, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, I was desperate to me involved and do my bit for the amazing charity that helped my Nana so much during her struggle with breast cancer.

Join #TheBigDogWalk Facebook Page and find out more here: https://goo.gl/ctYebO
We have organised a charity dog walk around Fineshade Woods in Northamptonshire near Rutland, meeting at Top Lodge, Fineshade, NN17 3BB on 18th September at 11am.

Everyone is welcome!
Dog owners, walkers, families, dog lovers, children etc..
Whether depending, we will do either the 3k or 5k walk around the stunning woodland, and to take part we'd like everyone to bring a cash donation big or small with them as a contribution to taking part and will go towards our finial total money raised for Macmillan.

The dog walk itself is followed by charity fundraiser at Harringworth Village Hall from 2pm.
The fundraiser is welcome to everyone as well, and will consist of coffee and cakes, game and competitions, jumble and tombolla stalls as well as a raffle with amazing prizes donated by local business.

We're keen to bring families, pets and dog lovers together for this exciting event for the amazing charity that is Macmillan.

We have a Facebook Page that you can check out and show your interest and keep up to date with our regular updates as well as click 'attending' if you can make the day!

Chloe and I visited Rutland Radio to chat to radio presenter and Rutland local-celebrity Rob Persani to talk all things #TheBigDogWalk!
Obviously, we're aware not everyone is going to be able to attend however would possibly like to donate towards a cause close to a lot of our hearts.
If so, we've launched a Just Giving Page where you can donate towards #TheBigDogWalk and help us smash our target!

DONATE here:
All donations are greatly appreciated, anything big or small goes towards an amazing charity.

We can't wait for the big day, and hope to see many of you there with your lovely doggies, and even if you don't have a dog please come along as share the support!

VAGINA DEODORANT? | INTIMATE HYGIENE

14.8.16

I recently read Tanya Burr's blog post called 'Lets not be shy about it' referring to intimate hygiene, and I was amazed to find out that I'd never heard of FemFresh.
I'd obviously seen the brand before but had never really thought about what it could be used for, and the use of the brand never crossed my mind.

I've always been nervous and worried about intimate hygiene as it's something my mother has always been very informative about when it comes to 'care for down there'.
I've always worried about what I should actually be using when washing and on-the-go hygiene too.

So after reading Tanya's blog post, I went in search for all-things-FemFresh!
It was actually harder than I thought! I couldn't find it in any of my local supermarkets or in my local pharmacy, but managed to stumble across it in Boots.

I read into FemFresh before using the products as I was so intrigued about why it was different to using normally skincare washing product that I've used for forever, and why this is not more widely spoken about.

FemFresh is described as 'a gentle and caring, pH balanced intimate skincare wash that’s different, because your intimate skin is different' and even that small statement confirmed that this is an important topic that all women should be informed about.

So I've been using the FemFresh Wash Daily - which is soap-free by the way - and I have noticed a difference in feeling cleaner and more confident especially in the heat we've been experiencing recently.

The product I was most excited to try, was the deodorant.
Deodorant for your vagina? How could I not be intrigued.
Again, this is an issue I've always been completely paranoid about and regularly carry wipes in my handbag to freshen-up with.
So when I heard there was a deodorant for your intimate area, I had to give it a go!
It's been specially formulated to give long lasting freshness with a 'delicate fragrance, combined with the calendula multi-Actif complex helps limit the development of odour to leave you feeling fresh and confident", with moisturising silk extract to provide a protective layer to increase comfort.

I couldn't believe the results, they were instant.
I waited until I wasn't feeling as fresh down there, and used the deodorant which instantly freshened the area and made me feel so much more confident and comfortable, I now carry it everywhere with me. I think it's a must for the summer months especially.

The final product I tried from FemFresh was the wipes, ideal for on-the-go.
I've been using the Teen Wipes from Lil-lets in recent months which are good, but you don't get many in there. However they are the perfect handbag friendly size.
The FemFresh wipes cleanse, freshen and deodorise and include 25 wipes.
The packaging is less handbag friendly, however these wipes are a game changer.

Overall, I can't believe I've never heard of FemFresh properly before, and am shocked that it's not more widely spoken about, especially in the blogging and beauty world as I feel these products are so important for our daily skincare and washing routine.

If intimate hygiene is something you've always been paranoid about like myself, I'd highly recommend testing out FemFresh and it's given me so much more confidence I feel it's a brand I will use and respect for years to come.

TMI Allert:
Using FemFresh has made me feel so good, it's even resulted in me going commando a few times recently and avoiding that annoying VLP in a tight dress situation.
But mainly because I feel so clean, comfortable and confident, I'm happy to do so!
That's all thanks to reading Tanya blog post, and giving FemFresh a go.

Let me know in the comments if you've tried FemFresh and what you thought, and is it a product you use daily in your skincare routine?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

THE IDEAL FAMILY WEEKEND AWAY | CROMER, NORFOLK

10.8.16

Cromer has always been my favourite place.
When people ask you as a child 'If you could be anywhere where would you be?' or 'What's your favourite place in the whole world?' I'd always say Cromer.

So when I read about #JoulesExplorers the first place I thought of where I'd spend my ideal family weekend away, had to be Cromer.

Our Favourite Place | Photo source: http://goo.gl/1Ps7do
We've been to Cromer every year for many, many years!
Starting when I was about 10 when we used to visit East Runton Caravan Park for the week with my Auntie and cousins, we had so much fun every time. We had freedom to explore, we found our independence and I think those holidays away from my parents really helped me become the independent, confident person I am today.

Since then, Cromer has been our annual family holiday destination, even if it was just for the day - we've always classed Cromer as a holiday.

The reason Cromer is my favourite place is because it's so pretty, calm and feels like a little happy bubble away from the rest of the world.
It's where I feel safe, happy and care-free. I really do think it's that special place in my heart.

To have an ideal family weekend away in Cromer, now would be very strange without my Nana who we lost this year. However Cromer and Norfolk were such a special place for her is why we'll still always head back there each summer.
For me a holiday is not about whether you're abroad, or how far away from UK you can get as possible, it's about who you're with and what you make of it.

But as an idea of our ideal perfect family weekend, this is what we would do...

Saturday | Cromer, Norfolk
DAY 1:
We set off in convoy down the A47, stopping of at The Little Chef for breakfast - of course!
We'll head to Burnham Market first to use the oh-so posh toilet in The Hoste, browse around The Hat Shop, spend too much in Jack Wills.. Before continuing our journey until we begin the game of 'who can see the sea first?!'.

Arriving in Cromer and driving down Beach Road, is when that holiday/'OMG I'm at the seaside' feeling kicks in and I just can't wait to walk along the pier.
We'll stay in one of two hotels on Beach Road; The Clifftonville or The Sandcliffe and always park in the same side road for the weekend close to the hotel, with views of the sea and mini golf course.

After sorting our who's room is who's, our weekend away will always begin with a walk along the pier watching all the people crabbing with their buckets full of crabs and other random items they've managed to catch from under the pier.
We'll then try and grab a table at the end of the pier and order some wine to begin the holiday in style.

We've always popped to the Sticky Earth Cafe where we paint pottery and have a huge laugh over coffee and cake! The pottery is popped in the kiln before we see our completed masterpieces/embarrassing artistic attempts and collect before we leave the next day.

Then, after spending hours heading from one arcade to the the other, and only leaving after we've managed to catch a toy on the impossible cranes. We'll head back to the hotel, and get changed for the evening.

Where we eat for the evening will depend on if we fancy a indian or an Italian...
However due to the fact we're all big kids and Bella Vista, Italian is on the seafront right next to the arcades, it's 98% likely that we'll eat there.

We'll all share olives and order a bruschetta, followed by pizzas and pasta and too much wine!
Before hurrying back to the arcades to waste more money, and win the useless toys you'll forget about the next day before they close, just because we're on holiday and we can!

Sunday | Cromer, Norfolk
DAY 2:
Our second day begins with a trip to the shops.
Going to Cromer always makes me feel like I'm going back in time, to a kind of place where phone aren't important and people don't revolve around social media.
The shops seem dated but perfect and everyone is so lovely.

Cromer's high street isn't full of all your big brands, its a mixture of independents and smaller branded stores. It's the perfect place to browse for hours of which we'll do very easily.
My mum will go to one of the independent stores and buy a Limited Edition Charlie Bear which she does each year as her little mini holiday treat, to add to her Teddy Bear Collection, and I will visit each an every charity shop, bargain hunting as I do!

We'll head towards the Information Centre where there is usually a lovely local market in the car park at the rear and we'll have a walk around there before heading to the car to visit Cromer Zoo.

Possibly the smallest Zoo I've ever been too, however aren't they usually the best?
With some amazing animals from tigers to tapirs, I could be there all day!

Back in Cromer Centre, we're walking the promenade again, towards what I like to call the 'Ice Cream ATM' which is a hole in the wall ice cream parlour full of all the fun and bizarre flavours you can imagine. We grab our first Ice cream of the weekend - I'll have a Pistachio cone and Tom will have a Chocolate Chip cone - before heading straight to the arcades to gamble away all the remaining 2p and 10p coins we've been saving from the year before.

Equipped with every toy ever from all the arcades, we pick up our finished pottery from the cafe whilst laughing at each others effort and head back to the hotel to say 'til next time' to our favourite place. We check out and begin the drive back to Rutland, already planning the next visit to gorgeous Cromer.

That would be my dream family weekend away.
There is so much to do in Cromer for all the family, I'd recommend it hugely.

Where is your favourite place and where would you like to take your family on a weekend away?

I hope you enjoyed this different post for a change!
