BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS HAUL 2015

16.9.15

Every September in our Local Town of Stamford there is one of the countries biggest equestrian events, Burghley Horse Trials. It's such a large event that's held at Burghley House from Thursday to Sunday which visitors from all over the country.

What's fabulous about Burghley Horse Trials is you don't have to be an equestrian fan to attend but it's still amazing to watch! You can simply shop the hundreds of tents from Fashion to Homeware and all in between! It's the perfect place to start your Christmas Shopping with all the unique products and handmade items too.

This years Burghley Horse Trials started on 3rd September and I attended on the Friday; Dressage Day. I'd bought a few exciting and unique things from Burghley 2015 so I thought I'd pop a little Haul Post together and share my purchases with you!

I've got a stationary obsession at the moment and I fell in love with these unique designs from Clare Brownlow which animal designs are all painted with a pheasant feather.

I struggled to choose between all the amazing designs but I chose this design simply because all the animals uniquely painted from a frog to a elephant in the Procession Postcard Pack are just stunning.

They came in a Pack of 10 for £8.00 which I think is a really great price for such unique postcards.
I've got quite substantial collection for Postcards and Notecards now and I think they're so handy to have in a desk drawer for a special note or thank you card.

I've also got an addiction to homeware and interior design.
Recently I mentioned my Boyfriend and I had a spot of redecorating and rejigging our rooms around.
I completely fell in love with this Alpaca Wool Throw from So Cosy that's a sample of their New Collection. I manage to pick up this £79 Alpaca Throw/Blanket for £40 which for an Large Alpaca Wool Throw/Blanket is such an amazing price.

What I love about this Wool Throw is its versatility because although it's thin, Alpaca Wool is so, so warm! It's large enough to be a Blanket or a Throw but as it's thin it can double as a Scarf or a Wrap, perfect for Autumn and Winter!
We've been using it every evening as a Blanket and it's perfect. I had to have it.

As you'll probably all well know by now, I love Pugs.
I have a lot of Pug related items in my home but I'm lacking some stylish pug items I can actually get away with having in my home where they blend in rather than standing out for the wrong reasons.

This year at Burghley I picked up these stunning Pug Tweed Cushions from Grays Country Gifts which I just adore.
They're a classic and stylish cushion with the neutrals and tweed aspects with the stunning sketch of a Pug on the front.

I love the Tweed reverse it's no only perfect for my Vintage themed Bedroom but so soft, beautiful and unique. Soo.. I bought two!
One for my side of the bed, and one for Tom's.
They we're £19.95 each which is a great price for a large filled cushion with tweed reverse as per metre of Tweed material is usually well over £30pm.
They look so adorable on my bed and complete my cushion arrangement.

As I mentioned earlier, Burghley is the perfect place to start your Christmas Shopping to buy unique gifts for your loved ones. This year I wasn't Christmas Shopping but Shopping for a 4 Year Olds Birthday Present.
As Burghley is very country based there are some perfect gifts and present for children who love animals and farm vehicles. So for a tractor crazy 4 Year Old this Rain Coat is absolutely perfect, and only £25 on offer.

For most, Burghley is probably quite a way away from where you live.
But if it isn't and you love either shopping or horses - or both! - I highly recommend coming along next year and enjoying the festivities as it's such a lovely atmosphere and an amazing, different day out.

I hope you enjoyed my Burghley Horse Trials 2015 Haul!
Let me know if you went to Burghley this year, or have been before!

#TRANSFORMATIONTUESDAY: WEEK 1

15.9.15

This week I started Week 1 of my 11 Week #TransformationTuesday Series with Ex Army, Author and Personal Trainer Lucy Wyndham-Read.

How was it?
The first week was exciting!
I've been so motivated.
I found the diet plan really enjoyable and I've loved cooking and preparing all the healthy meals and snacks.
The exercise has been tough but fun! I've enjoyed working out daily and especially enjoyed the quite and easy HIIT Workouts on Lucy's Channel especially the Thigh and But Workout!

What have I eaten?
The average day has looked like:
BREAKFAST
Alpen Wholegrain Muesli Oats with Blueberries, Raspberries and Natural Yogurt

SNACK
Banana

LUNCH
Mixed Bean Salad and Carrot Sticks with a Spoon on Hummus

SNACK
Almonds and Rasins

DINNER
Quorn Steak with Broccoli, Cauliflower and Peas

DRINKS
Up to 8 Glass of Water

What exercise have I done?
The exercise has alternated daily, which has kept me interested!
Doing short, sharp HIIT Workouts, feeling the burn and seeing difference already is so much more enjoyable and motivating that doing long, slow workouts.

21 Minute Interval Power Walk/Run
I'm doing this 3 Times a Week for the first 2 Weeks.
2 Minutes Fast Power Walk and 1 Minute Jog/Run.
Repeating 7 Times.
(My plan suggested a Fast Power Walk followed by an Extra Fast Power Walk. However I found this a little to easy as I wasn't getting out of breath or feeling the burn as much so I upped the Extra Power Walk to a Run/Jog)

3 Times a Week.
This is one of Lucy's handy Toning Workout Videos you can watch here.
A combination of But and Thigh exercise Toning Workouts from squats to star jumps all made enjoyable by Lucy's unique workout style, quirky exercise names and short, sharp intervals separated by 20 Seconds of Cardio.
What I love about it is how easy it is to find 5 Minutes out of your day to do a workout to tone problem areas.

3 Times a Week.
This is such a hardcore workout but made so much more doable by being 4 Minutes long.
Short, sharp and intense but over quickly which makes it an easy workout whatever your lifestyle.
Finding 4 Minutes of your busy day to get fitter is easier than you think!

Have I seen any changes?
This morning, on the 1 Week since I started mark I weighed myself.
I feel lighter and I've noticed a reduction in my stretch mark which I think is down to the But & Thigh Exercises!
I've lost 2 lbs! Which I'm really, really happy about.
If I can lose 2 lbs every week for 11 Weeks, I'll be ecstatic!

Measurements:
Thigh: No Change
Calf: No Change
Arm: -0.5 inch
Waist: -1.5 inches
Hips: -0.5 inch
Bust: No Change
Boobs: -1 inch
Total Loss: 3.5 inches

Losing 3.5 inches in 1 Week is so amazing. I'm so pleased.
I can't wait for my New Diet Plan to Start and Next Week I'll receive a New Workout Plan!

What's Next?
For Week 2 my Diet Plan changes with updated Meals, planned by Lucy.

Example Monday:
BREAKFAST
Coconut Porridge with Raisins

SNACK
Grated Carrot, Grated Apple with Poppy Seeds and Lime Juice

LUNCH
Lentil Soup

SNACK
Peanut Butter and Banana Slices

DINNER
Wholewheat Pasta with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Basil Pesto

I'm so pleased with Week 1 Results!
Let me know if you've tried any of Lucy's Workout via her YouTube Channel, I find them so helpful.
See you next week with my #TransformationTuesday Week 2 Results!

ALL THINGS, EVERYTHING JO MALONE

9.9.15

I've been a huge Jo Malone fan for a while now however it's not always a accessible or affordable as you wish it could be. For me, the problem isn't the prices as I do spend money of good quality fragrances and candles, my issue is getting to a Jo Malone store.

I live in the Countryside and my nearest Jo Malone Store is Nottingham or Cambridge which are 50 Miles from where I live in the Rutland Countryside. Yes, you can buy Jo Malone online but it's not like buying a shirt that looks like the picture on the website, it's buying scents and you need to smell them to know what you like.

So recently I was in Cambridge and stumbled across a Jo Malone Store and obviously had to go in!

I went abroad earlier this years and when in the airport fell in love with the Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Scent. I umm'd and ahh'd over buying the scent as it really was the most amazing fragrance I'd smelt, however decided I couldn't justify spending some of my holiday money before I'd ever let the country.

So when I stumbled across the Cambridge Store and rekindled my love for the Pomegranate Noir Cologne I knew I had to have it!

What I love about Jo Malone mostly is it makes spend what some people might think as 'crazy, huge amounts' on fragrances etc but with Jo Malone you really do get the Star Treatment.
With your chosen items boxed to perfection hand wrapped and ribboned and tissue spritzed with the cashiers chosen fragrance.

Not only did I just indulge in the Cologne though, I had to treat myself to the Pomegranate Noir Hand & Body Lotion too as it's just stunning. Spending your hard earn money in Jo Malone is very easy but it's also very rewarding and an enjoyable experience when you get such amazing customer service and your purchases presented so beautifully.

The Pomegranate Noir Scent is a mixture of Fruit and Spice, it's also the strongest scent Jo Malone do and I would go as far to say it's probably quite 'Marmite' for most people described as 'Dark and Enigmatic.' But I just absolutely adore it, it's like no fragrance I've smelt before.

The Cologne is available in a 100ml or 30ml at £85.00 for 100ml and £42.00 for 30ml.
Weighing it out with the amount you get for your money, how much I love the scent and the fact I have no Jo Malone Stores near me I had to go for the 100ml as I just love it so much, I want it to last for ages.

The Hand & Body Lotion is so hydrating and creamy and carries the Pomegranate Noir Scent strongly throughout which I just love as I can smell it almost all day.

The Hand & Body Lotion is £38.00 which might send some of you into panic (and them me emphasis this was a treat) but you get a 250ml Bottle of my favourite Pomegranate Noir scent that absorbs into the skin so quietly that conditions and hydrates whilst the fragrance aspect defuses from the skin. When worn with the Cologne too just creates to ora of Pomegranate Noir Perfection.

Once I'd returned home from my Jo Malone splurge, I was discussing my purchases with my Boyfriend Friends to have her give me an unwanted gift of a Jo Malone Soap in my favourite scent ever, Pomegranate Noir.

The Soap - like the Hand Lotion - is very highly scented and really is the perfect gift and completes my Pomegranate Noir Collection. The Soap is £14.00 for a 100g Bar which foams when used, cleaning and subtly scenting the skin.

The perfect Cologne Companion.

If you're thinking of indulging in some Jo Malone products I'd recommend popping into a store and testing and trying out some of the products as they really are amazing.
The Staff will happily give you some samples to try and help you find the scent for you, so please let me know how you get on!

I love Jo Malone for unique scents, amazing product range and the pure quality of each item from scent and formula to design and feel. They make the perfect treat or gift.

I hope you enjoyed my little Jo Malone Haul and if you're not a Jo Malone addict i've introduced you to the brand and products.

#TRANSFORMATIONTUESDAY: DAY 1

8.9.15

I'm so excited to share this exciting project with you all than I have been planning for a while.
I am collaborating with Ex Army, Health & Fitness Expert, Celebrity Personal Trainer and YouTuber Lucy Wyndham-Read, again!

This time though, I'm doing an 11 Week Health & Fitness Series called #TransformationTuesday where I'll be eating healthier and exercising towards a healthier and fitter lifestyle, documenting my progress and thoughts each weeks on my Blog; #TransformationTuesday.

Lucy has decided to join me in my challenge of getting fitter (and hopefully toning and losing a few pounds along the way!) by being my #TransformationTuesday Personal Trainer.
Lucy has designed my 11 Week Health Plan with Monday to Friday Meal Plan as well as my Monday to Friday Fitness Program that includes some of her amazing YouTube Fitness Videos.

I'm excited to spend 11 Weeks changing my lifestyle up to the day of my Winter Holiday to Center Parcs!

Today, is Day 1.

My Goal:
To fit into my New Swimsuit and feel more body confident.

So hopefully with the help of Lucy and her expertise I'm only 11 Weeks away from feeling more confident in myself, and if I can fit into my New Goal of a Swimsuit, it's a bonus!

NEW MAKEUP TOOL UPDATE

6.9.15

I've been in love with Real Techniques Makeup Tools since I fell in love with makeup a year or so ago. They really are the best value for money makeup tools on the market.

I already own a lot of Real Techniques Brushes but recently updated my Collection with some New Products!

I already have the Miracle Sponge which I use to apply and blend my Makeup, however as I use it every single day my current one needed replacing. As it really is that good, so I bought another!

Real Techniques also recently brought out a Collectors Edition of the Sculpting Set which has 3 Real Techniques Brushes in it in a Collectors Special of Shiny Pink Metallic colouring and includes the Sculpting Brush, Setting Brush and an Exclusive Fan Brush.
Which I picked up on Special Offer in Superdrug for £13.99.

I already have a Real Techniques Setting Brush but they are so, so handy for Highlighter, Blending Contour or Eye Shadow Blender but I love using it for Concealer as it's so light and fluffy.

I was excited about the Fan Brush as I love the smaller size of it to normal fan brushes, and is going to be perfect for Powder Highlight or for Sweeping Setting Powder.

I absolutely love Contouring and Sculpting.
I'm really excited about the Sculpting Brush.
I use a Cream Contour to shape and sculpt my makeup look, and the Sculpting Brush's wide, dense brush and angled shape will be so perfect for contouring.
I recently been using the Sculpting Brush for Foundation too and it's the perfect shape and density for a flawless foundation look.

I love the Pink Metallic Collectors Edition Colouring and it looks perfect with my New 'Little Cosmetics Bag' Makeup Bag I picked up for only 99p from Home Bargains.

The Miracle Sponge has been my favourite Makeup Tool for a really, really long time.
It has so many uses whether you use it for applying, blending or finishing your foundation and makeup look. But it's the most useful tool in my Makeup Bag.

I rinse it under a Cold Tap squeezing it to absorb the water until it's nearly doubled in size and feels soft before squeezing all the excess water from it.

I then use it to apply and blend my foundation as it leaves such a natural, flawless finish making your pump of foundation go a long way to creating the perfect airbrushed base.

I then use it to blend my Cream Contour and to blend any other products or remove any accidents.
It really it the best multipurpose Makeup Tool!

If you've not tried any of the Real Techniques Products then I'd highly recommend them!
They are the Best Makeup Bag investments I've made.

Let me know what your favourite Real Techniques Tool is or if you have any other Makeup Tool Brand Recommendations!

MY AUGUST FAVOURITES

2.9.15

August.. No way?
It's time for yet another Monthly Favourites and this Month I've been doing a lot of Shopping and a lot of try and testing with products so I have a lot of Monthly Favourites.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics - from £5.99
New Product Launch
I'm a huge Tanya Burr fan. I love her YouTube Channel, her Beauty Tutorials and I adore her Tanya Burr Cosmetics Product Range.
This Month Tanya launched some new products and a New Design for her Collection.
The New Products feature a stylish rose gold exterior and New Products such as Shadow and Brow Palettes, New Nail & Lipgloss Shades too. The products are amazing.
Not only do they look stunning but their formula is so amazing.
The Polishes are very pigmented, thick and go a really long way. The Lipglosses have the best applicator I've ever uses and are glossy and creamy. The Eyebrow Palette has the perfect selection of colours for all hair and skin types as well as a highlighter too.
I just love them! You need to try them out.

I've got a lot of bag... A lotta, lotta bags.
However I lack in small bags for every day use, so when I saw this ASOS Leather Body Bag in the ASOS Sale I just had to have it!
1: Because it's small and perfect for every day use
2. Because it's the perfect match for the Aspinal Of London Purse I featured in my July Favourites
It's so functional and has the perfect amount of space for the balance of carrying all your essentials but not cluttering up your bag.

I'm always struggling to find the right size makeup bag, just like I mentioned my struggle with a handbag. But on my recent trip to one of my favourite shops ever, Home Bargains I stumbled across this adorable Pink 'Little Cosmetics Bag' Makeup Bag that I just couldn't resist! It's also the perfect size for all my daily makeup essentials and fits perfectly in my New ASOS Leather Bag.

I recently mentioned in a previous post my new found love for NSpa Bath & Body Products (which you can read here) for their affordable price and amazing product and scent selection.
Later in the month I was in need of a New Face SPF and New Moisturiser , and as I love the NSpa Bath & Body products so much I decided to give the Skincare a go too, and I'm so glad I did!
The moisturiser is so hydrating with a thick, silicone like formula that's done wonders for my dry skin. The SPF is much more creamy and a little goes a really long way.
I'd highly recommend trying Nspa as a brand, exclusive to ASDA.

I'm a huge lover of all things Jo Malone but due to the Jo Malone Luxury they're not always in the affordable bracket. Again, 'When in Cambridge' this Month I stumbled across the Jo Malone store which I decided to enter, which is a risky decision to all!
I've loved the Pomegranate Noir Scent since I was in the Airport earlier in the year and fell in love with the unique fruity, spicy scent.
So, naughtily I indulged. How could I not?
Wondering home with a bag full of Jo Malone beauty with the Pomegranate Noir Cologne and Hand Cream. To arrive home to visit my Boyfriend's Parents to find his mother had a Pomegranate Noir Soap that was an unwanted gift. So I wondered home with that too!
Then I went to London last week and got sucked in by Jo Malone again and purchased the Small Bottle of Pomegranate Noir Cologne as my handbag bottle.
If you like strong, lasting and unique

KIKO Products - from £6.90
Whilst I was in Cambridge a few weeks ago I went into my First KIKO Store!
I'd heard a lot about KIKO Products from YouTube and from a friend who swears by them so I thought it was time I tried a few!
I'd be after a New Lip-Combo for a while especially and everyday 'my lips but better' nude shade.
So when I stumbled across these stunning Intensely Lavish Lip Products in Shade 2 in their Charlotte Tilbry like packaging I fell in love and after I swatched the Lip Liner and Lipstick, they went straight in my basket!
They are the perfect combination for an every day lip with a semi matte finish I just love!

Next I'd been after a new foundation and my current one is coming to the end.
So I picked up the KIKO Skin Evolution Foundation in Shade 107 and I love it!
I recently wore it on a busy Blogging day out in London and usually with a busy say darting across the capital my makeup has definitely seen better days.
However, on this occasion even after running for my train my makeup held up much better thanks to my new foundation. It's also very build-able so it's perfect whether you like a light or high coverage finish.
I also picked up the KIKO 102 Face Brush which was on offer at around £7.90 and I couldn't resist the perfectly soft bristles and I'm desperately in need of a new multi use powder brush.

MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush and MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Black Ice - from £16.00
When in London and on Oxford St you just can't not go into Selfridges.
I was completely sucked in by the MAC counter and decided I needed to finally get my hands on the MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush and a new long lasting eye liner, so I went for the MAC Pro Longer Eye Liner in Black Ice.

I've been meaning to purchase the CCB in Hush for ages.
Since seeing makeup tutorial and makeup tutorial and it's amazing finish I was so happy to finally pick up a pot! It's the perfect little makeup bag must have you can use for so, so many things.
I bought it simply for a cheek shimmer, highlighter as it just leaves the most beautiful reflective sheen on the skin rather than some of the other highlighters on the market that leave you with a thick, glittery mess. However, use it on your cheeks, face, eyes or even with foundation!
It's such a useful product.

I chose the Pro Longwear Eye Liner because I love using eyeliner on the waterline however, it never lasts half the day, forget all of it. So even though the Pro Longwear Eye Liners don't come in as 'jet black' shades as the Kohl Liners but they don't move around as much so they last longer.
I'm so pleased with it!

H&M Wool Bow Heels - £29.99
I counted my shoes on my shoe racks the other day and I have over 60 pairs of heels.
Yes, over 60.
So what I did I do whilst I was in London?
Yes, I bought another pair of heels.

"Life is too short, buy the shoes"

However these aren't like any of my other pairs, so I just had to have them!
They're a Wool material and just look absolutely stunning and when I saw they were £29.99 they went straight in my basket.
They just shout 'Effortless Chic'.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying - £7.69
I buy a few books a month as I've rediscovered a love for reading.
Last month I heard Estée talk about this book on her Vlog Channel and she was mentioning how amazing it was and how it's changed her way of thinking.
So, as a very messy human I popped into my Amazon Basket and whilst on the Train to and from London the other week I gave it a read.
I became instantly hooked.

The book is written by Marie Kondo. A Japanese Tidying Consultant who's obsession for organising and tidying as a child has found her a huge career and a best selling books of her talent.
The book basically teaches you how to change your life into thinking tidily.
Yes, this sounds all too good to be true but really it works.
The day after I got back from London I spent my day off becoming a Clean Freak from out of no where.. I'm the Queen of Clutter and bin bag and bin bag was disappearing from my house because I was so inspired to tidy all my years of clutter up and declutter my life.
I'm going to write a separate Blog Post on this incredible Book but until them I had to include in my monthly favourites as it really is Life Changing.

IKEA Zebra Rug - £25.00
If you didn't already know I have a huge obsession with Interior Design and I'm forever changing and updating my decor. My Boyfriend and I took a trip to IKEA the other week and as usual, we went in for one thing and came out with a car full of new purchases.
My favourite purchase from our trip was this super soft Faux Zebra Skin Rug.
I love it so much that we bought two.
It's just such a simple but effective statement in the room I just adore it.

His & Hers Cushions - £6.99
As I mentioned my huge obsession for Interior Design, I took a trip to The Range recently and couldn't resist these 'His Lordship & Her Ladyship' matching cushions.
I don't know why I love them so much but it's so nice to see a simple design of His & Her's cushions without them saying 'Mr & Mrs'. So for non-married folk like myself, they're perfect!

I normally use Garnier's Micellar Water to remove my makeup before bed but this month I discovered  L'oreal's Skin Perfection Micellar Water which was on Sale in Sainsburys.
So I thought I'd give it a try!
I much prefer it to the Garnier alternative. Not only if the packaging much better looking and better shaped for storage but the formula is much kinder on my skin, much more effective on removing makeup and get eye makeup off with much less hassle than the Garnier Micellar Water.
If you normally use the Garnier Micellar Water I'd highly recommend picking up the L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water and giving it a try!

My last Blog Post featured my New Candle Crush, St Eval Candle Company.
Their scents are so unique and refreshing. But my favourite is definitely the Sea Salt Candle.
With a masculine like scent with a salt edge and added citrus scents it's just stunning, and for a small candle they have a great 45 Hour Burning Time too so they last ages!

Pug Scarf - £3.99
As you're probably well aware, I'm Pug Obsessed.
My house is surround my Pug related items.
So when I was shopping in my local town of Uppingham the other day and I found this amazing Pug Scarf I had to have it. I've been wearing it all the time since and had to include it in my August Favourites - How could I Not?

Bloggers On Blogging Project
